The Crooked Frame

The Crooked Frame

As a qualified optical dispenser, Greg Sexty admits “A particular pet hate of my mine are poorly fitted frames.  Especially when a little care and attention from an experienced dispenser means you can have well-fitted frames on your face.”

Here is some advice from Greg himself:

Have you ever felt that your current spectacles are not fitting well?

I don’t mean the obvious, a crooked frame which feels like it is  falling off, what I mean are the small almost negligible problems which if not resolved can cause discomfort and completely ruin your day. In the long run,  you will end up complaining about the “worst frames you’ve ever had”.

The signs of a sore nose, frames rubbing on your cheeks, frames leaving indents on the side of your head , frames slipping down all the time or  rubbing at the back of your ears.  These are all very common for people who have not had their glasses correctly fitted when they pick up their glasses or may have been given the wrong   advice on frame choice when selecting their frames.

Australia has people from all parts of the world resulting in every face shape and size imaginable  meaning we have  people with many ethnic backgrounds  resulting  in face shapes that wary lots.  Factors like a high nose bridge, a low nose bridge, large round faces to small petite faces, or high  cheek bones.

Different frames offer different benefits, features and comfort to different people so it’s important that you get the right advice on frame choice prior to your lenses being fitted and equally as important that your new frames are adjusted on pick up, particularly when wearing  multifocal and extended focus  lenses.

We have fully qualified optical dispensers in all our optometry practices, coupled with our wide range of frames and we feel confident that we can fit any face shape. So take advantage of us and see for yourself.
